KBA Executive Committee Roles

Current members can be found here. No committee member is automatically carried over to the new year.


Nominations must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday 18th October 2023.

Those eligible will be full KBA Members, and be endorsed by two other full KBA Members.


If there are more nominations than places on the committee, the KBA will run a vote the week before the AGM. Otherwise, those elected will be announced on the AGM on Wednesday 25th October at 5:30pm, at Small Rave - 74 Karangahape Road. Full event details here.


Those elected will make up the KBA Executive Committee following the AGM on 25th October 2023. Their commitment will involve the following:


The role of the Executive Committee:

The KBA operates within budget constraints. The role of the Executive Committee is to ensure the available funds are used efficiently to carry out the the role of the KBA.


The role of the KBA:

  • Assist the commercial development of the precinct.
  • Foster the welfare of the business community. 
  • Promote the precinct’s unique assets and identity.
  • Liaise with Government and local authorities to arrange streetscape, transport and infrastructure improvements.
  • Administer the BID Programme Funding. 


The KBA is not responsible for the financial gain or loss of any business or individual. 


The role of the Chairperson: 

  • Oversee Executive Committee and KBA affairs outlined above.
  • Provide leadership to the Executive Committee.
  • Preside over the Executive Committee meetings, and the Annual General Meeting.
  • Sign off minutes of meetings.
  • Fulfill any other responsibilities that arise under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908. 


The role of the Secretary: 

  • Maintain the KBA registry.
  • Ensure the register of KBA Members and Associate Members.
  • Carry out the minutes of the Annual General Meeting, Executive Committee Meetings, and any additional General Meetings. 
  • Fulfill any other responsibilities that arise under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908. 


The role of the Treasurer: 

  • Ensure all money due to the Association is received and all payments authorised by the Association are made.
  • Ensure the KBA accounts and other financial records are kept and maintained, including details of receipts and expenditure.
