🟠 Lounge Stage is serving up pure magic this First Thursdays!
We’ve got a lineup that’ll have you vibing, grooving, and feeling the festive spirit all evening!
Kicking off at 5PM, Northern Line’s birthday bash brings a crew of legends with dān dān, Screaming Seagulls, and Murdur Wun — absolute units. It’s your chance to sing, laugh, and have a drink.
From 7PM, things get weird and wonderful with Peter Baecker. Think silver spandex, neon dreams, and an 80s Christmas dance party that’ll make your jaw drop and your feet move. Spandex optional, but dancing? Not.

🚇 The Future of K’ Road is around the corner! 🚇
After nearly five years of hard work, Karanga-a-Hape Station is set to transform the way we experience K’ Road. With platforms 33 metres underground and urban upgrades to the streetscape around Mercury Lane and Beresford Square, this station will soon become a central point of movement and culture.
The design, influenced by local iwi artist Reuben Kirkwood and mana whenua, celebrates both Aotearoa’s rich history and its bright future. From sky elements symbolising Tāne Mahuta to a station surrounded by light-filled plazas, Karanga-a-Hape is a space designed to reflect our community’s unique spirit.
Shout out to the legends at @cityraillink for not only reshaping the area but also supporting our K’ Road events, like First Thursdays, throughout this journey. 🙌 While we’re sad to say goodbye to Pocket Park, the excitement builds for what Beresford Square will become — a hub for our community to come together.
Check out the renders in this post for a sneak peek of what’s to come. Get ready K’ Road — rail is coming uptown, and the future looks bright! ✨
#KRoad #KarangahapeStation #CityRailLink #LinkAlliance #Community
✨ Congrats to our K’ Road finalists!
Massive shoutout to Apéro, Bar Magda, Candela, Gemmayze Street, and Pici for being named in Metro’s Top 50 Restaurants of the Year 2024! These legends keep Karangahape Road buzzing with amazing food, vibes, and unforgettable experiences that make our neighbourhood special.
All five restaurants are now in the running for the supreme Restaurant of the Year award, which will be announced at the grand event on Monday, October 14th, along with other top categories like Best Chef, Best Dish, and more!
Here’s to every restaurant and venue that lights up K’ Road — you’re the heart and soul of our vibrant community!
𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲! 🫶🏼
Tomorrow marks the last edition of Pocket Park Stage at First Thursdays at the top of Pitt St, and we’re feeling all kinds of emotions! This iconic spot has been a launchpad for so much talent — giving a voice and a stage to everyone from fresh, young faces to seasoned pros, all thanks to the stellar curation by Cross Street Music Festival @crossstmusicfestival ✨ and support of @cityraillink 🚀
To every artist who has poured their heart and soul into this space, 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨! Pocket Park has been more than just a stage; it’s been a vibe, a community, a place where art, music, and soul collide. We’ve danced, we’ve chilled, we’ve connected, and we’ve celebrated the incredible talent that makes Karangahape Road so damn special.
As Beresford Square continues to evolve with the Karanga-a-Hape station opening soon, Pocket Park Stage will also transform into something new and beautiful. Keep your eyes peeled!
Shout out to this bunch of legends — we couldn’t fit everyone in one post, but just know you’re all part of the magic!
Here’s to the memories, the music, and the magic of Pocket Park. Onward and upward, K’ Road fam! 🌈

🎵Come groove with us this First Thursdays, 1st August! The Pocket Park Stage kicks off at 4:30pm 🚀
𝗣𝗢𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘 📍Top of Pitt Street
⚡️4:30pm — 6pm // Sharon from Payroll @sharon_from_payroll
Hailing from the vibrant Tāmaki Makaurau, Sharon from Payroll is serving up a delectable audio smorgasbord to keep you dancing. Sharon’s musical journey is a fusion of all things good, culminating in nights infused with Baile Funk, Dancehall rhythms, and the infectious beats of UK Garage.
⚡️6:00pm — 6:30pm // Jinetero MC @boomboomselecta
Jinetero MC will share with us his newly released track ‘24 HOURS’ featuring MADAM PARKER and DJ Electro Beat. ‘24 HOURS’ is the first release off his upcoming album, scheduled for release later this year.
⚡️7:00pm — 7:30pm // Love Square
Nick Atkinson brings his hatchback full of saxes and ventures onto the keys, though he hardly needs to, as Finn Scholes seems to have no trouble playing his trumpet and electric pianos at the same time! Both bring sacks full of hand percussion, as well as bongos, congas, and more horns than a front lawn full of buffalo! Alistair Deverick bangs the drums and you have to see this guy cook to understand why he’s got the seat in Lawrence Arabia, Carnivorous Plant Society, and the Come Together band. This fine trio of musicians takes you on a jazz journey from the basements and back-roads of Addis Ababa to the pulsating highlands of Bolivia. From the Caribbean to the Pacific, they skank, they chi-cha, they cumbia across the stage till the whole house gets baking.
⚡️7:30pm — 9:00pm // DJ Grantis @grantis13
BaseFM’s DJ Grant ‘Grantis’ Apiata, who has had longstanding residencies across the city, such as PSC and Shy Guy, will bring a dance selection of many genres to get you moving.

TE KARANGA A HAPE
Thursday 27 June 2024, 3pm onward
All over Karangahape Road
————————————
More about the event…
Te Karanga a Hape is K’ Road’s popular Matariki street party, taking place on the eve of the 2024 Matariki public holiday. This year’s theme is 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗶 𝗧𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗮 / 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, which celebrates the staunchly progressive spirit of Karangahape Road, a thoroughfare of free-thinkers and a hotbed for innovation and growth. We give thanks for the many cultures, communities and characters that make this street unique, and together, we look forward to the promise of the year ahead.
The K’ Road Business Association is working with a team of local creatives to curate a full and fabulous programme of live music, art, food, fashion, performances, markets and workshops.
A big thanks to the support of Auckland Council, Link Alliance, and Cross St Music Festival.
